Sex For Grade: A lecturer Exposed

Sex for grade is not a new statement, but, you can say it is one of those ignored wicked act around the university system. Many efforts to tame this has proven abortive because a serious and tactical measure has not been exercised by the government and some of the Universities in question. There has been an incessant uproar from female University students of Lecturer demanding sex in exchange for grades. This act of misconduct has been an epidemic around University campuses for a while, and many victims have kept quiet. Sex for grade is no longer a thing to tolerate. Although, this kind of harassment is said to be endemic. As it is never proven.

After gathering dozens of reports BBC Africa eyes reportedly sent undercover journalists posing as students inside the University of Lagos and the University of Ghana.

Female reporters with secrete cameras were sexually harassed, propositioned and put under pressure by senior lecturers of the Institutions. As seen in the video below from BBC Media.

It could be seen that, so many students who are victim of this epidemic of sexual harassment are afraid to speak up. CynbaNews media team went ahead to speak with some students on both Uniport and Rivers state University campuses.

We gathered from the students that, the reason why most of them can not speak out is because they are afraid. As these lecturers are all grouped and speaking against one means more wicked act from the others. Trying to report one, means, they might never graduate from the institution as a student. Since there is no solid evidence per se.

Nevertheless, some have tried resisting. Though, according to them, it has been very difficult. This is especially when one is very pretty as a girl.
