Johnny Depp VS Amber Heard: Depp’s testimony

New evidence has emerged in the defamation/domestic violence trial of Johnny Depp as he testified on Wednesday.

Johnny Depp had sued his ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation after she made a statement in the Washington Post in 2018, profiling herself as a domestic violence survivor.

Heard had earlier filed for a divorce and a restraining order against Depp for Domestic Violence in 2016.

Heard counter-sued Depp for denying the allegations and calling her a liar and that led to the current hearing.

Depp’s career had been affected by Heard’s allegations.

Regarding this Depp said, “I would be a real simpleton to not think that there was an effect on my career based on Ms Heard’s words, whether they mentioned my name or not.”

Well, things might be taking a turn as new evidence suggests Depp was abused.

Here are some of the biggest highlights from Depp’s testimony

Depp said his ex-wife initiated violence as though she needed it.

He said, “Ms Heard needs conflict. She has a need for violence. It erupts out of nowhere. The only thing I learned to do is exactly what I did as a child — retreat.”

He added, “[Amber Heard] in her frustration and anger and rage and anger, she would strikeout. It could begin with a slap, it could begin with a shove, it could begin with throwing a tv remote at my head or throwing a glass of wine in my face.”

Depp recalled one occasion when he lost a finger.

“My hand is on the edge of the bar, and she threw the large bottle and it made contact and shattered everywhere,” Depp said. “I didn’t feel the pain at first — what I felt was heat and something dripping down my hand. Looking down, I realized that the tip of my finger had been severed, and I was looking directly at my bones sticking out and the meaty portion on the inside of my finger… I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that’s the closest I’ve ever [felt to one]. In my mind and my heart, I knew that this is not life. No one should have to go through this.”

Depp also recalled wanting to go get his belongings from Heard’s House and being told it wasn’t a good time by the security guard. He was then sent a photo of human faeces on his bed. Amber blamed the dogs for their dogs for the act but Depp alleged the faeces were of a human and that the dogs’ faeces were significantly different.

Regarding why he stayed in the marriage with all the abuse, Depp said,

“I stayed with her because I didn’t want to fail. Really, I thought I could help her. I didn’t want to break her heart. I remember my mother’s first attempt at suicide, a direct result of my father’ leaving. Ms Heard spoke of suicide on several occasions.”

A recording of Amber Heard admitting to getting physically violent with Johnny Depp was also presented during the hearing.
